How to empower BIM software with construction object data templates and EPD data?
Award winning use cases to be presented by xbim & Morta
Join our webinar to explore the capabilities of structured standard-based data integrated in construction software solutions.
During this session, the winners of the latest Define Hackathon will present their work with the Define Templates API (Application Programming Interface). Software vendors xbim, Morta will share use cases of querying environmental data properties from data templates within their BIM solutions. Those would allow construction software users to start using environmental product declaration (EPD) properties for various building components and obtain information for life cycle assessment (LCA) calculations.
Templates API benefits for construction software
By integrating with a standard-based data dictionary, such as Define, software vendors expand their core value proposition by enabling a common machine- and human-readable digital language as part of their construction data software – be it 3D-object libraries, PIM (Product Information Management) and CDEs (Common Data Environment) or BIM authoring tools.
The free flow of trusted, high-quality data improves decision-making and enables the industry to work more efficiently with complex environmental requirements, reduce waste and become more circular.
About Define data dictionary and Templates API
Define is a data dictionary that enables organizations to implement a common digital language based on standards. Its creation and use in construction are a prerequisite for the adoption of modern digital technologies and ensure the digital transformation of the construction industry.
Define offers an API access through Define Templates API which enables users to integrate with various external systems or digital solutions. Through it, they can access common data structures, called data templates, and the properties developed in the data dictionary. This facilitates the export of high-quality, trusted data approved by experts and structured according to industry standards.
